Sol. (i) Let charges on the spheres are + q 1 and – q 2 . initially

∴ Force F 1 = = 0.108 N ......(i)

(ii) After connecting with conducting wire charge on each sphere becomes:

∴ F 2 = = 0.036 N .....(ii)

(iii) on solving (i) and (ii); q 1 and q 2 are 1 × 10 –6 C and 3 × 10 –6 C.
